Hey! Welcome to Who Let Me Adult: Figuring It Out, One Struggle at a Time!
Allow me to introduce myself – I’m Lauryn, a twenty-something year old that is trying to figure out this whole “adulting” thing. I’ve decided to share the real, unfiltered experiences that come with adulting; the not-so-glamorous side of adulthood. You know the real-life stuff no one, not even your parents, tells you about.
As a child I used to think adulthood was so much fun and looked so cool. I’m sure you too could not wait to become an adult. It seemed so easy because there was so much freedom, and no one telling you what to do or how to live your life. Oh, how things change once you actually grow up and realize we had it gooooodddd when we were kids. I used to think I would be married and have at least 2 kids living in a big house and have a very well-paying job by 25. What the hell was I thinking? 😂 I’m currently 26 and none of that has happened and isn’t even close to happening for that matter. The daily struggle of just trying to balance work, relationship, friendships, family, fitness, finances, and much needed “me-time” is so beyond exhausting and conflicting.
If you are feeling the same way, then you have come to the right place. If you are struggling with finding your way as an adult, you’re not alone. It’s so easy to feel alone in the journey because there’s so many people around you that are at very different points in their life. It’s easy to feel lost, feel self-doubt, and even feel like you’re doing life “incorrectly.” But there’s no ‘correct’ way to go about adulthood, so why do we feel that way? Well, that’s what we’re gonna dive into and figure out together.
Think about your journey through adulthood and write down some questions you have, and your feelings about certain struggles or wins you’ve been experiencing. Writing it out opposed to bottling it inside, helps tremendously.
The journey continues – see you there! ✨
